India Crushes England by 434 Runs in Rajkot Test as Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Double Century Steals the Show

In a stunning display of dominance, India cruised to a massive 434-run victory against England in the third Test at Rajkot, with left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal stealing the show with an unbeaten double century.

Jaiswal’s spectacular innings of 214* runs, adorned with 14 fours and an astonishing 12 sixes, not only showcased his exceptional talent but also played a pivotal role in India’s commanding win over England. His partnership of 172 runs alongside Sarfaraz Khan, who contributed with an unbeaten 68* runs, further solidified India’s dominance in the match.

Reflecting on his remarkable innings, Jaiswal credited the advice from his seniors, particularly skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja, for inspiring him to play big when set. He highlighted the importance of staying focused and executing his plans, especially after overcoming initial difficulties and dealing with a back issue on day three of the match.

The victory was a collective effort from the Indian team, with Ravindra Jadeja’s exceptional bowling performance (5/41) leading the charge in restricting England to just 122 runs in their second innings. Kuldeep Yadav also played a crucial role with two wickets, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah chipped in with a wicket each.

Earlier in the match, India secured a commanding lead of 556 runs in their second innings, thanks to solid contributions from Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Kuldeep Yadav. Rohit Sharma’s early dismissal was overcome by partnerships built by the young batters, setting the stage for Jaiswal’s explosive double century and Sarfaraz Khan’s consecutive half-century on Test debut.

In the first innings, England managed to score 319 runs in response to India’s 445, with Ben Duckett’s blistering century (153) being the standout performance. However, India’s bowling attack led by Mohammed Siraj (4/84) and supported by Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja, ensured that England’s innings did not pose a significant threat.

Ravindra Jadeja’s exceptional all-round performance earned him the Player of the Match award, capping off a memorable Test match for the Indian team. With this victory, India has taken a commanding lead in the series, showcasing their dominance on home soil.
