In advance of the QUAD Leaders’ Summit, which will take place in Sydney this month, the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation plans to hold a lavish community celebration in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A day before the Quad Leaders’ Summit, which is slated for May 24, PM Modi will attend the event in Sydney on May 23.
“The event, which will be held on May 23, aims to provide the large and growing Indian diaspora of Australia with an opportunity to listen to our beloved leader, the Prime Minister of India,” the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation (IADF) said.
Over 20,000 members have already registered to attend the event, which has already received an overwhelming response from the IADF. In order to participate in the reception as welcoming partners, more than 300 diaspora organisations from varied social, cultural, linguistic, business, professional, and religious backgrounds have registered.
“We have seen grand events take place whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels overseas and the Indian diaspora is excited to have him in their midst. This event in Sydney is expected to be no different as there is a huge excitement among the locals to welcome the most popular leader worldwide,” Vijay Chauthaiwale who heads the BJP Foreign Affairs Department told ANI.
For the prime minister’s grand reception at the event, cultural performances, singing, and dancing are planned to highlight India’s rich cultural heritage and how it is thriving thanks to the Indian population living there.
For those assembled there, PM Modi’s address is still the event that everyone is most looking forward to. The G7 summit and the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation Summit, respectively, will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Japan and Papua New Guinea before he heads to Australia.
A non-profit group called the Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation seeks to commemorate and advance the rich Indian culture in Australia. It gives the Australian Indian diaspora a venue for networking, socialising, and promoting cultural and neighbourhood events.
