Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja has taken over as the new Chief Financial Officer at Tesla following the resignation of Zachary Kirkhorn from the position. In a message shared on his LinkedIn profile, Kirkhorn announced his departure from the role after 13 years of service with the company, expressing gratitude towards Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk for his visionary leadership.

In his post, Kirkhorn stated, “This morning Tesla announced that I’ve stepped down from my role as Chief Financial Officer, succeeded by our Chief Accounting Officer, Vaibhav Taneja. Being a part of this company is a special experience and I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together since I joined over 13 years ago.” He extended appreciation to the dedicated and industrious employees at Tesla who accomplished remarkable feats, defying expectations. He also acknowledged Elon Musk’s inspiring leadership and positive outlook.

Vaibhav Taneja’s trajectory began at Delhi University and led him to Tesla. A commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, Taneja joined Tesla’s ranks in 2016 through his association with SolarCity, which was later acquired by Tesla.
