India is set to play a significant role in the advancement of AI: PM Modi

December 8, New Delhi, India: On December 12 in the nation’s capital, the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence Summit 2023 will get underway with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance.
The three-day Summit will feature a plethora of engaging sessions, one of which is the AI Expo, where approximately 150 start-ups will be exhibiting their capabilities.
India has contributed significantly to this summit since its founding in June 2020 by actively participating in a number of initiatives to promote the creation, application, and adoption of open, safe, secure, and accountable artificial intelligence (AI).
Prior to the event, PM Modi wrote on LinkedIn, “India’s election to its Council in November 2022 reflects its dedication to Safe & Trusted AI. “PM Modi went on to say in the post that because of the rapid advancements in a number of fields, including artificial intelligence, we as citizens are living in an extremely fascinating time.
“Decades of fast-paced innovation and the power of human endeavour have brought to life what was once considered to be only in the realm of imagination,” PM Modi wrote in a LinkedIn post.
According to PM Modi, there are areas of rapid advancement, and one area where the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) are growing exponentially is.
Now that this ground-breaking technology is in the hands of a younger generation of bright minds, its enormous potential is being rapidly enhanced. “India, as one of the youngest nations with a vibrant start-up ecosystem and a talented workforce, is poised to be an active contributor to the evolution of AI as the world leaps into a not-so-distant future.”
According to PM Modi, India provides scalable, secure, reasonably priced, long-lasting, and globally replicable solutions. He pointed out that one of the best examples of such initiatives is India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) initiative. With the aid of technology, India and its people have advanced significantly over the past nine to ten years. Saying that India accomplished in a few years what other nations took a generation would not be an exaggeration. This was made possible by the rapid adoption of smartphones, internet connectivity, and scalable digital inclusion. India wants to offer a wide range of services to its people, such as speaking to them in their native tongue, simplifying and customizing education, improving access to healthcare, and enhancing the knowledge of agriculture. AI is being used by India for a variety of beneficial goals, according to PM Modi. “We are seeing in the modern world that…India expands in order to maintain a model of growth that is inclusive and egalitarian. India innovates to guarantee that nobody gets left behind. In addition, PM Modi wrote on LinkedIn, “India leads to ensure that it can lead everyone towards the goal of the greater good.” At the Artificial Intelligence Summit 2023, prominent figures in the GovTech industry will deliberate on significant developments in AI made in the previous year. Researchers, executives from businesses, and decision-makers with an interest in artificial intelligence are among the people who attend the conference. AI in healthcare, finance, agriculture, education, transportation, security, and citizen services are just a few of the topics that participants will engage in interactive panel discussions and one-on-one meetings covering.
The intention is to foster communication and cooperation while developing a thorough awareness of the most recent advancements in AI and their possible future effects. India is looking to provide to its citizens various services — be it serving citizens in their language, making education easier and personalised, making healthcare more accessible, making agriculture more informed.
