InFinity Forum: PM Modi Highlights India’s Economic Success and Global Leadership

In a virtual address during the second edition of the InFinity Forum, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized India’s remarkable economic growth and its pivotal role in global leadership. The Prime Minister underscored the importance of prioritizing policy, ensuring good governance, and placing the well-being of the country and its citizens at the core of economic policies.

PM Modi proudly announced that India’s growth story has showcased to the world the positive outcomes achieved through a focus on policy and governance. He highlighted that India’s economy has surged at an impressive rate of 7.7 percent in the first six months of the fiscal year, demonstrating the nation’s resilience and progress.

Addressing India’s position as a leader in the Global South, PM Modi referred to an earlier statement by the Australian Prime Minister, acknowledging India’s strong position to provide leadership to the Global South.

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the World Economic Forum recently recognized the reduction in red-tapism in India, creating a more favorable environment for investment. He remarked, “Today, the whole world is looking at India with hopes and expectations.”

PM Modi attributed India’s global standing and the world’s expectations from the country to the transformative reforms undertaken by his government over the last decade. He praised the strengthening Indian economy and emphasized that the country has become a beacon of hope for the world.

Highlighting India’s commitment to addressing climate change, PM Modi stressed that, as one of the largest economies globally, India takes environmental concerns seriously.

Turning attention to Gujarat, PM Modi lauded the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) as a hub for emerging financial technology. He expressed confidence that GIFT City’s role in shaping 21st-century economic policies would make Gujarat proud.

In a moment of cultural celebration, PM Modi congratulated Gujarat for UNESCO’s recognition of the traditional dance Garba as intangible cultural heritage, stating that Gujarat’s success is synonymous with the country’s success.

The InFinity Forum, organized by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), serves as a platform to explore and advance major ideas in finance and technology, aiming to develop these ideas into global solutions and opportunities.
