The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is scheduled to launch the INSAT-3DS satellite Saturday, February 17 at 5:35 pm from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. This mission aims to enhance India’s weather forecasting capabilities, especially crucial amid the havoc caused by climate change worldwide.
Informing that the INSAT-3DS is the latest addition to India’s 3rd generation satellites in geostationary orbit.
However here are the ISRO INSAT-3DS Mission Objectives:
– Monitor Earth’s surface, oceans, and environmental conditions using essential meteorological perspectives.
– Offer data on various atmospheric conditions through vertical profiles.
– Oversee data collection and dissemination from Data Collection Platforms (DCPs).
– Aid Search and Rescue services.
