Local administration on Thursday opened the traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at around 9 AM after clearance at Shalgadi, near Banihal. The Highway was closed following the occurrence of a landslide.

The first priority was given to stranded vehicles after restoration of vehicular movement on NH-44, “Traffic on NH-44 restored after clearance at Shalgadi, near Banihal–first preference to stranded vehicles. Rest to follow. Wait for @Traffic_hqrs updates,” read the tweet by Ramban deputy commissioner.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was stopped late Wednesday night in the Shalgari area of Ramban district due to persistent rains, leaving nearly 300 vehicles stranded.
