JP Nadda Accuses INDIA Alliance of Criticizing Sanatana Sanskriti and Exercising Control Over the Media

On Thursday, JP Nadda, the chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), leveled accusations against the opposition coalition known as INDIA, alleging their attempts to intimidate the media and target individual journalists.

In a statement posted on a platform, Nadda directed strong criticism toward the Congress party, claiming it had a history of stifling dissenting voices. He cited past instances, including Pandit Nehru’s limitations on free speech and the arrest of critics, as well as Indira Gandhi’s imposition of the Emergency period with its restrictions on civil liberties.

Nadda also mentioned former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s unsuccessful efforts to bring the media under state control, asserting that Sonia Gandhi-led UPA governments had banned social media handles due to disagreements with their content.

Nadda went on to critique the INDIA alliance, asserting that their actions primarily revolved around two activities: denigrating Sanatana Sanskriti and exerting undue influence on the media. He accused the parties within the alliance of competing to outdo each other in using harsh language against Sanatana Sanskriti and attempting to intimidate the media by filing FIRs, threatening individual journalists, and compiling lists of targets.

Nadda urged the newly formed INDIA alliance to cease their actions immediately and shift their focus toward constructive work and serving the people. He warned that their current path could lead them into obscurity.

It’s worth noting that there have been reports suggesting that the INDIA alliance may boycott certain television anchors and shows, with leaders preparing a list of anchors and programs to boycott.

Meanwhile, JP Nadda was in Pune to attend a three-day coordination meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event involved 36 organizations affiliated with the RSS and covered a range of topics, including promoting an environmentally friendly lifestyle, emphasizing family values, fostering social harmony, supporting indigenous products, and promoting civic responsibility. Discussions also addressed societal challenges and the need to work together with a national spirit to address the current socio-economic landscape in the country.
