”Congress & Corruption-Two Sides of the Same Coin” JP Nadda

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President, JP Nadda, launched a scathing attack on the Congress, alleging a deep-rooted connection between the party and corruption. The criticism came during a massive protest organized by BJP members at the Gandhi statue in Parliament, focusing on the cash recovery from the premises linked to Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dheeraj Sahu during Income Tax raids.

“From the beginning, BJP has believed that Congress and Corruption are two sides of the same coin. Congress is known for malpractice; it is known for criminalization. This is the policy of Congress. Right now money is being withdrawn from the accounts of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu, the Almira is full of black money, the money of poor people, and the counting is still going on. Don’t know where this counting will stop. This is the tip of the iceberg,” stated Nadda.

He further emphasized Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to tackling corruption, asserting that no corrupt person would be spared. Nadda criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, challenging them to respond to the allegations against their party.

Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Javdekar questioned the source of the recovered Rs 354 crore at Dheeraj Sahu’s residence. Javdekar dismissed the claim that Sahu is a businessman, questioning why a legitimate businessman would hoard such a significant amount in cash. He accused Sahu of being the “ATM of the Congress,” emphasizing the need for accountability.

MoS MEA V Muraleedharan highlighted the incongruity of a substantial cash recovery in an era of digital payments. He called on the Congress to explain the recovery of crores of rupees in cash from the premises of a Congress MP, especially when digital payment modes are widely used.

The BJP organized a protest at the Parliament, led by JP Nadda, with banners reading “C for Congress and C for Corruption.” The demonstration aimed to draw attention to the alleged corruption involving Dheeraj Sahu. Meanwhile, the Income Tax department completed the currency counting of 176 bags seized during raids, with the SBI main branch in Balangir set to follow official procedures for depositing the cash.

The documentation process is still ongoing, and Income Tax officials are conducting surveys at properties connected to Dheeraj Sahu in Balangir, Odisha, and Jharkhand. The recovered amount is reported to be in excess of Rs 300 crore. The Congress, distancing itself from the allegations, contends that only Dheeraj Sahu can explain the source of the substantial cash found at his business. The BJP is expected to intensify its criticism of the Congress in light of the ongoing developments.
