Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath Deny Speculation of Joining BJP, Affirm Commitment to Cong Ideology

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath have vehemently denied speculation of their switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), labeling the rumors as baseless. In a statement to ANI, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar dismissed the speculations, affirming that Kamal Nath, a senior Congress leader and former CM, remains committed to the party’s ideology. Singhar emphasized Nath’s invaluable contribution to the Congress and refuted any notions of defection, asserting that all MLAs stand united behind him.

Singhar’s remarks were echoed by State Congress President Jitu Patwari, who reaffirmed Nath’s unwavering dedication to the Congress cause. Patwari emphasized that Nath, a stalwart of the party, remains firmly rooted in its ideology and dismissed the rumors as a deliberate attempt to malign his reputation. Similarly, Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma emphasized that Nath has not entertained any thoughts of leaving the party, focusing instead on strategizing for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh.

The speculation surrounding Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath’s alleged defection gained traction after a photo shared by BJP spokesperson Narendra Saluja depicted the father-son duo with a caption reading ‘Jai Shree Ram’. However, Kamal Nath swiftly quashed the rumors, affirming that there was no truth to the claims. Addressing the media, Kamal Nath reassured that any significant developments regarding his political allegiance would be communicated officially.

Despite the persistent rumors, both Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath have maintained their allegiance to the Congress party. The speculation underscores the political dynamics at play in Madhya Pradesh as parties gear up for the upcoming electoral battles. However, for now, the Nath family remains firmly entrenched within the Congress fold, dispelling any notions of defection to the BJP.
