Kamal Nath Son Nakul Nath Likely to Join BJP

Sources indicate that there could be a significant setback for the Congress party as former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son, Congress MP Nakul Nath, are reportedly considering joining the BJP. However, there has been no official confirmation from either Kamal Nath or Nakul Nath.

Adding fuel to the speculation, BJP spokesperson and former media advisor to Kamal Nath, Narendra Saluja, shared a picture of the father-son duo in Bhopal with the caption “Jai Shri Ram.”

Furthermore, Nakul Nath, who represents Chhindwara in the Congress, has removed the word ‘Congress’ from his profile on X, further raising eyebrows.

The duo is expected to arrive in Delhi today, intensifying the rumors swirling around their potential defection.

In response to these rumors, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh expressed disbelief, stating that he spoke with Kamal Nath directly and questioned how someone who has been closely associated with the Nehru-Gandhi family since the beginning of their political career could contemplate leaving the party.

Meanwhile, Sajjan Singh Verma, a Congress MLA from Sonkatch in Madhya Pradesh and a strong supporter of Kamal Nath, has reportedly removed the party’s logo from his social media profiles.

These developments come on the heels of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan’s decision to join the BJP, marking yet another departure from the Congress party. Chavan, who had been with the Congress for four decades, resigned from all party positions and as MLA from Bhokar constituency before joining the BJP. He subsequently filed his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections.

Chavan’s move follows the footsteps of other senior Maharashtra Congress leaders such as Baba Siddique and Milind Deora, who also left the party recently. Siddique joined the Ajit Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), while Deora aligned with the Shiv Sena faction under Eknath Shinde.
