The iTV Network is hosting the We Women Want Festival on 18th March 2023 at the Juhu Hotel in Mumbai. The event was attended by Congress MLA (Maharashtra) Yashomati Thakur and Deputy Leader of Shivsena, Sheetal Mhatre.
Speaking about the woes of women during Covid pandemic, Thakur said, “Women suffered the most during the pandemic and worked the most as well. The pandemic was a difficult time for everyone but especially for women. We had to make decisions on the spot I was discouraged from working during Covid.”
“The new government of Maharashtra has provided 50% concession for women on state-Run buses. As per the new budget scheme, girl child from BPL families will be given ₹75,000 till she attains the age of 18. 200 toilets for women will be made on the highways,” said Sheetal Mhatre while speaking to NewsX.
The event marks the second edition of the We Women Want Shakti Awards, honouring India’s women achievers. The day-long festival is an extravaganza celebrating women and saluting their spirit.
