Maharashtra: Violent clash between 2 groups in Akola, Section 144 imposed

On Saturday evening, a violent clash erupted between two groups over a minor dispute in the Old City police station area of Maharashtra’s Akola, according to police. According to the video, members of the two groups pelted stones at each other, damaging vehicles and causing a commotion on the streets. Officials, however, stated that the situation is now under control. The incident prompted the administration to issue a prohibitory order under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

“Following the violent clashes Section 144 has been imposed in the city,” Akola Collector Neema Arora said.

The violent mob, according to police, has damaged some vehicles. According to reports, a large crowd marched on the Old City police station after a minor dispute turned violent.

According to official sources, the violent mob targeted some vehicles in the area, and police have begun using force to bring the situation under control. According to Akola SP Sandeep Ghuge, the situation is currently under control. “Section 144 Prohibition Order has been imposed in Akola city on the order of District Collector,” he said.

This is the second incident of its kind in Akola. A few days ago, there was a violent clash between two groups in the Akot File locality of Shankar Nagar.

More information is awaited.
