Mamata Banerjee’s Health Stable, Doctors Maintain Close Monitoring

Doctors Keep Close Watch as Mamata Banerjee's Health Stabilizes

Mamata Banerjee’s Health Stable, Doctors Maintain Close Monitoring

The health status of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is “stable,” a senior state administration official declared on Friday. The 69-year-old Banerjee “slept well,” he added, despite having suffered serious injuries to her forehead and nose during a fall inside her Kalighat home in South Kolkata on Thursday night. “The CM’s medical state is steady. Because senior doctors were closely monitoring her the entire time, she slept well that night. There will be another evaluation of her condition this morning,” the official said on Friday.

The Bengal CM had three stitches placed in her forehead and one in her nose, and she was released from the hospital after undergoing the required diagnostic procedures. She suffered a concussion to her brain in addition to a deep gash on her nose and forehead that was gushing blood. Her vitals were stabilized after she was examined by senior physicians from our institute’s departments of cardiology, medicine, and neurosurgery. Her forehead received three stitches, her nose received one, and the necessary dressing was completed. ECG, echocardiogram, CT-Scan, and Doppler investigations were conducted “Manimoy Bandyopadhyay, director of SSKM hospital, stated.

Although they have increased security in and around Banerjee’s home in the Kalighat neighborhood, police have not yet filed a complaint in relation to the chief minister’s resignation, according to an officer. The police officer declined to comment on whether they planned to record the CM’s statement or file a suo moto complaint in this regard, citing the SSKM Hospital bulletin that the CM had a fall “due to some push.”

“As of now, there has been no complaint lodged in connection with the fall of the CM. We have increased the security around the CM’s residence,” he said, adding that they were looking whether there was any security lapse or not.
Banerjee gets a “Z+ category” cover and has a special team of officers looking after her security and even at her residence.

Pictures of Banerjee with blood streaming from her forehead were uploaded by the TMC on Thursday night. Abhishek, the nephew of Banerjee and the national general secretary of the party, drove her to the hospital and helped secure her admission.
