In Bhopal, a man was arrested for murdering his mother after she refused to let his girlfriend visit their home on Valentine’s Day. According to his statement to the police, he committed the act in a fit of anger over her decision.
The suspect, identified as Raunak, was disclosed by Bhopal Police on Friday. The victim, Raunak’s mother named Nanda More, resided in Shabari Nagar within the city.
Authorities were alerted on February 15 regarding the death of a woman in Shabari Nagar. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered the woman’s body bearing multiple injuries.
During interrogation, Raunak failed to provide satisfactory answers, raising suspicions among the police.
Following the autopsy report’s confirmation of suffocation as the cause of death, Raunak was questioned again, leading to his admission.
According to his account, he desired to bring his girlfriend home on Valentine’s Day night, which resulted in a confrontation with his mother. The altercation escalated, leading Raunak to push his mother forcefully, causing her to sustain facial injuries upon falling.
Subsequently, when his mother slapped him, Raunak, overwhelmed by anger, used a cloth to strangle her to death.
