iTV Network hosted the second edition of We Women Want Conclave And Awards in Delhi on Monday. The event was attended by the inspirational women achievers who were mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mann Ki Baat.
Asia’s first Loko Pilot, Surekha Yadav said, “I drove Vande Bharat Train from Solapur to Mumbai on March 13, which was acclaimed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 26. I felt so blessed and I thank him for encouraging me to continue in the same way.”
Poonam Nautiyal, who contributed towards making India’s vaccination program a success, spoke about her achievements and the inspiration behind it. She said, “I thank the PM for acknowledging my efforts. I wanted to become a doctor and serve the society, but couldn’t, therefore I became a nurse to serve the purpose.”
Padma Shri Awardee & Social Activist who worked against manual scavenging Usha Chomar spoke about her struggle and said, “Prime Minister ensured the growth of women with truth & dignity. Indian govt recognized my work. There’s no work which is below our standards.” She was mentioned in
Babita Rajput, a social activist who worked to solve the water scarcity problem talked about the struggle of women in her region. “Water is the biggest issue in Bundelkhand. Women here still suffer from Parda Pratha. I was elated when Prime Minister Narendra Modi honoured me,” she said.
The event marks the second edition of the We Women Want Conclave and Awards, honouring India’s women achievers. The festival is an extravaganza celebrating women and saluting their spirit.
