 Macron’s Israel Visit Commences with Prospects of Meeting Palestinian President

The French President is the latest leader to show solidarity visit to Israel after the October 7 attacks by Hamas. Macron did not confirm the meeting immediately as reported by The Times Of Israel.

According to The Times of Israel, French President Emmanuel Macron is scheduled to hold a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Tuesday, as reported by the Palestinian Authority leader’s office.

The French President is the latest leader to show solidarity visit to Israel after the October 7 attacks by Hamas. Macron did not confirm the meeting immediately as reported by The Times Of Israel.

He met his Israeli counterpart Issac Herzog after arriving Israel.

Following this, the French President arrived in Tel Aviv, where he met with the families of French and French-Israeli nationals who either lost their lives in the Hamas attack or are currently held hostage by terrorists in Gaza.

Macron visit two weeks after Hamas attack on Israel, killing at least 1,400 people, the majority of them were civilians who were shot, mutilated, or burned to death, including in their homes and at an outdoor music festival. 30 of them were French citizen as reported by The Times Of Israel.

Beside this 224 people were taken hostages and brought to Gaza. A French woman among the seven missing French nationals has been conclusively identified as one of the individual’s held captives by Hamas. Macron and Netanyahu have plans to hold a joint press conference later today. US President Joe Biden, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte have all made visits to Israel since the commencement of the conflict.
