Shock and Outrage: Minor raped in Rajasthan’s Dausa

The accused has been apprehended and is currently undergoing interrogation

On Friday, in Rajasthan’s Dausa district, a minor girl was reportedly subjected to sexual assault by a police sub-inspector, as stated by the authorities. The incident occurred in the Lalsot area when the accused sub-inspector, Bhupendra Singh, allegedly enticed the victim into his room in the afternoon and committed the assault, according to ASP Ramchandra Singh Nehra. The accused has been apprehended and is currently undergoing interrogation, Nehra added.

Meanwhile, Dausa SP Vandita Rana stated, “The precise age of the victim girl will be established through a medical examination and relying on the family’s report.” The girl is estimated to be around four to five years old, she added. A substantial number of local residents gathered and surrounded the Rahuwas police station, expressing their discontent through slogans against the police. BJP MP Kirodi Lal Meena also visited the scene. “There is significant public outrage over the rape incident involving a seven-year-old Dalit girl by a policeman in Lalsot. I have arrived at the location to seek justice for the innocent child,” Meena remarked. He further commented, “The police, empowered by the incompetence of the Ashok Gehlot government, is unhesitatingly engaging in misconduct, even on such a sensitive occasion as elections.”
