In a bid to showcase India’s technological advancements and its commitment to digital transformation, the Digital India Center has been established at the summit venue. The center offers a highly interactive experience, featuring various devices for hands-on exploration. NewsX correspondent Akshit Gupta sent a special report from Bharat Mandapam showcasing India’s digital capabilities.
One of the center’s highlights is the AI-powered language translation platform, explained by Bhashini, a guest at the center. This platform currently supports 22 Indian languages, enabling seamless text-to-text translation, speech recognition in all 22 languages, and text synthesis in these languages.
Visitors were treated to live demonstrations of the platform’s capabilities. These demonstrations showcased the platform’s usefulness in translating languages and highlighted its flexibility to handle various languages, including those related to the G20 summit and government schemes.
Another fascinating system presented at the center is the Jugalbandi system. This system allows users to engage in real-time interactions via their mobile devices, akin to a chatbot experience. While it doesn’t aim to be universal, it has been tailored for specific topics, including the G20 summit and government schemes. The technology behind Jugalbandi leverages automatic speech recognition, database queries, generative AI, and text-to-speech translation to provide comprehensive responses to user queries.
The center also featured a live demonstration of a chatbot, similar to ChatGPT, designed for specific topics like the G20 summit and government schemes. The chatbot utilizes automatic speech recognition, database queries, and text-to-speech translation to provide comprehensive answers to user queries.
Moving on, visitors were introduced to India’s prowess in financial technology, particularly the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Demonstrations included using a vending machine and QR codes to illustrate the ease and speed of UPI transactions, emphasizing its accessibility across the country.
Additionally, the center unveiled the concept of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). This ecosystem aims to connect buyers and sellers seamlessly, allowing for innovation and tech development while expanding the reach of micro, small, and medium enterprises.
In summary, the Digital India Center serves as a testament to India’s rapid evolution on the global technology stage, showcasing its digital prowess and commitment to digital transformation. It exemplifies the country’s endeavors to make technology accessible and beneficial to all, including small businesses and entrepreneurs. As India continues to forge ahead in the digital era, it remains a frontrunner in technological innovation and accessibility.
