The investigation of the Bengaluru Rameshwaran cafe is on and in the latest development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) detained Sai Prasad, a BJP worker on Friday (April 5).
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken Sai Prasad into custody for questioning, reportedly due to his purported connections to two suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. In recent developments, NIA conducted raids in Shivamogga, targeting a mobile store and the residences of two suspects.
In response, the Congress criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), highlighting Sai Prasad’s detention in Karnataka. Dinesh Gundu Rao, a prominent Congress leader, voiced his concerns, questioning the implications of a BJP worker’s arrest by the NIA about the Rameshwaram Cafe blast. Rao suggested that this development might indicate BJP’s involvement in the incident, implying a connection to what he described as “saffron extremism.” Rao urged the central BJP, known for its affiliation with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologies, to address these allegations.
Moreover, Rao demanded explanations from the BJP regarding its criticism of the Congress-led state government in Karnataka over the Rameshwaram Cafe blast incident, urging transparency and accountability.
The Rameshwaram Cafe blast, which occurred on March 1 at a popular spot in Bengaluru, resulted in ten injuries. The explosion, caused by a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED) triggered using a timer, prompted swift action from law enforcement agencies.
Last week, the NIA announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for any information leading to the apprehension of two key suspects in the Bengaluru cafe blast case. The agency solicited public cooperation in locating the individuals identified as Mussavir Hussain Shazib alias Shazeb alias Md Juned Hussain alias Mohammed Juned Sayed and Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa alias Abdul Matheen Taha alias Matheen alias Taha alias Vignesh D alias Sumit, among other aliases associated with Hindu names.
