The Noida police issued a traffic advisory on Monday morning urging commuters heading to Delhi to use the metro instead of taking roads in light of the tractor march in Noida by farmers affiliated with Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Tikait and BKU Lokshakti. The Yamuna Expressway and the routes from Gautam Buddha Nagar to the Delhi border, including Luharli Toll Plaza, are expected to experience traffic jams as a result of the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police’s announcement that they will install barriers and carry out extensive checks along all borders from Gautam Buddha Nagar to Delhi. Emergency situations will necessitate traffic diversions, according to the Noida police traffic advisory.
Travelers going to Delhi are urged to take the metro system in order to reduce traffic. Certain routes, like the Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Parichowk from Sirsa to Surajpur, will have restrictions on different kinds of goods vehicles. Work to open the road beneath the Singhu Border flyover, which was sealed following the farmers’ “Delhi Chalo” protest, has reportedly started in the midst of the ongoing farmers’ protest, according to a Delhi Police source.
The source mentioned that the lanes on the road below the flyover are being opened one by one. The Singhu border, the gateway to Haryana and Punjab, was closed on February 13 due to the farmers’ ‘Delhi Chalo’ March.
However, alternative routes were opened for vehicular movements.
