Notorious Indian Gangster Sukha Duneke Found Dead in Winnipeg, Canada

The incident follows the killing of designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 19, as a result of inter-gang warfare.

Notorious Indian Gangster Sukha Duneke Found Dead in Winnipeg, Canada

Multiple Indian agencies have confirmed the death of Sukhdool Singh, also known as Sukha Duneke, a wanted gangster, in Winnipeg, Canada. Winnipeg Police acknowledged a shooting incident that occurred on September 18 but have not officially confirmed the fatality or identified Sukhdool Singh as the victim.

According to a statement by the Winnipeg Police, “On September 18, 2023, at approximately 6:20 p.m., General Patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting incident in the area of Aldgate Road and Gobert Crescent. The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation.”

Indian intelligence sources have reported that Sukha Duneke was shot dead by an unidentified assailant, and the murder is believed to be a result of inter-gang rivalry. However, no gang has claimed responsibility for the killing at this time.

Sukha Duneke was known to be associated with the Davinder Bambiha gang from Moga district in Punjab. In 2017, he fled Punjab with alleged assistance from local policemen, obtaining a passport and police clearance certificate through forged documents to escape to Canada, even as seven criminal cases were registered against him.

In 2022, Duneke was accused of conspiring to kill kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Nangal with the help of his associates during a kabaddi match at Mallian village in Jalandhar. He was also purportedly linked to pro-Khalistan outfits and associated with Canada-based Khalistan operative Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh Dala, who is designated as a terrorist in India.

Duneke was notorious for making extortion calls and being involved in contracted killings. He had over 20 criminal cases of murder and other serious crimes registered against him in Punjab and nearby states. His name featured prominently on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) list of most wanted individuals, released just a day before his reported death. The NIA indicated that these individuals were wanted in connection with investigations into cases RC-38/2022/NIA/DLI and RC-39/2022/NIA/DLI, revealing that these gangs had engaged in targeted killings to terrorize the public and extort money.

This incident follows the killing of designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 19, as a result of inter-gang warfare. The circumstances surrounding Sukha Duneke’s death in Winnipeg are currently under investigation by Canadian authorities.
