A man has been arrested by Delhi police in connection with the Bhajanpura murder case, involving the killing of 36-year-old Harpreet Gill in the Subhash Vihar area of Bhajanpura, according to an official statement.
The apprehension of the accused took place around 2 a.m. on August 31 near the Signature Bridge, as reported by the police. The detained individual, along with four associates, was allegedly implicated in a road rage altercation with the deceased victim.
Efforts are currently underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the incident, as confirmed by Delhi Police authorities. The case revolves around the fatal shooting of Harpreet Gill and another man in Subhash Vihar, Bhajanpura. Five individuals riding two-wheelers reportedly carried out an unprovoked firing attack before quickly escaping the scene.
Following the incident, the police initiated a murder case and commenced an investigation into the matter. DCP Northeast Joy N Tirkey mentioned that progress is being made in identifying potential suspects, including the Maya Gang.
He explained that during the incident, both victims were riding a motorcycle when a verbal dispute escalated suddenly, leading to gunshots. Harpreet Gill suffered a gunshot wound to the head, and his maternal uncle Govind was also injured in the head but remained stable. The police are focusing on various suspects, including the Maya Gang, acknowledging that the group of assailants might comprise around four to five criminals.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather further details and evidence related to the Bhajanpura murder case.
