The anticipation surrounding the OnePlus Watch 2 continues to build as OnePlus teases its official unveiling. Rumors and speculations about the successor to the OnePlus Watch, initially unveiled in April 2021, have been circulating for weeks, hinting at significant upgrades and enhancements.
In a recent post on X, OnePlus shared an intriguing image featuring the outline of a watch dial with the caption “It’s about time,” strongly suggesting the imminent arrival of a new smartwatch, likely the OnePlus Watch 2. The image showcases a circular body with two buttons on the right side, with one likely serving as the home button and the other resembling a rotating crown, possibly serving a functional purpose. This teaser was also shared on the OnePlus Community, accompanied by a contest encouraging users to guess the product, with only “wrong answers” being acceptable and the “best wrong answer wins the right prize.” The contest, open to users from India, North America, and Europe, is set to conclude on February 26 at 5pm IST, hinting at a potential launch date for the OnePlus Watch 2.
Corroborating this speculation is a claim by tipster Max Jambor (@MaxJmb), who asserts that the OnePlus Watch 2 will indeed be launched on February 26. This aligns with Jambor’s previous assertion that the smartwatch would debut during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, scheduled to take place in Barcelona from February 26 to February 29.
Earlier leaks have suggested that the OnePlus Watch 2 will feature a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset, and is expected to run on either WearOS 3 or WearOS 4. Furthermore, its appearance on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website indicates an imminent launch in India.
