The political landscape in Punjab took an unexpected twist with SIC initially nominating Mian Aslam Iqbal for the Chief Minister position before replacing him with Rana Aftab from Faisalabad.
Iqbal, a former PPP member, refrained from taking the oath as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) due to fears of arrest by Punjab police. Rana Aftab, while expressing optimism, hinted at a potential surprise in the upcoming election but lamented the restrictions on SIC MPAs entering the Punjab Assembly premises.
