Parliamentary Chaos: LS & RS Adjourned Amidst Disruptions, Opposition wears black

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were postponed till 2 p.m. on Thursday due to interruptions caused by opposition members’ requests over the situation in Manipur.
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice, first until noon and once until two o’clock, while the Lok Sabha was adjourned shortly after it began meeting for the day. Noisy situations were present in Rajya Sabha nearly from the commencement of the session.

Members of the opposition parties shouted demands linked to the Manipur issue, particularly those covered under Rule 287. Many of the opposition’s members were dressed in black.

Speaking on “Latest Developments in Foreign Policy,” External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar was interrupted frequently by opposition supporters shouting chants.

Members of the ruling party responded by yelling “Modi, Modi” at them.

According to Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, India owns the decade and its growth is irreversible. Dhankhar said it is a wonderful privilege to be an Indian citizen and mentioned his trips overseas as Deputy Chairman.

Opposition members cause disruption in Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha

The opposition members kept shouting chants in favour of their demands, including a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the situation in Manipur, even after he asked the members if they had any supplements to Jaishankar’s statements.
Piyush Goyal, the leader of the house in the Rajya Sabha, made reference to the black clothing worn by opposition members of parliament and declared that “people who are wearing black clothes can’t understand the increasing power of the country” and that their “future is black.”

It is regrettable that politics is being used to discuss such a serious issue.

This is a question of India’s honour and her developing international reputation. I believe that those wearing black clothing are unable to comprehend the nation’s rising might. They have a dark present, history, and future. However, we hope that they will also experience some happiness,” he said.
In the midst of chaotic events, the Chairman called a break till midday.
The Chair requested Mallikarjun Kharge, LoP, to speak once the House reconvened.

Opposition chants focus on Manipur

Amid the uproar, the Chair decided to postpone the House until 2 pm

Speaker Om Birla of the Lok Sabha opened the Question Hour, but opposition MPs addressed issues pertaining to Manipur. The opposing members’ proposal for a vote of no confidence was accepted by the Speaker on Wednesday.

The opposition representatives have urged that it be discussed on Thursday.
The Speaker remarked that upholding the dignity of the House was a shared obligation and made reference to opposition members holding signs and approaching the stage while carrying banners and shouting slogans.

He claimed that people chose MPs so they could voice their concerns and prevent disturbances.
“Everyone in the nation is looking. This (conduct) is improper, he declared.
The House was then adjourned till 2:00 PM.

Since the start of the monsoon session of Parliament on July 20, there have been interruptions as opposition members have pressed for a thorough debate of Manipur and a response from the Prime Minister.
