Nepal Earthquake Claims 132 Lives, PM Dahal Visits Jajarkot to Support Affected Communities

Authorities have been instructed to keep ambulances readily available at all times near the Nepalgunj Airport’s helipad and military facilities.

After a powerful earthquake struck Nepal on Friday, the death toll has climbed to 132, with 140 individuals reported injured, according to Nepal Police. In response to the 6.4 magnitude earthquake, Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, known as “Prachanda,” has made his way to Jajarkot to visit those affected by the disaster.

Early reports at 3 a.m. local time on Saturday indicate that Jajarkot and West Rukum have borne the brunt of the damage, with Jajarkot alone recording 92 casualties, as revealed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Santosh Roka from Jajarkot district, as reported by The Kathmandu Post. Among the victims is Nalgad Municipality Deputy Mayor Sarita Singh.
