On the final day of campaigning in Rajasthan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress-ruled government, alleging that the state has witnessed unprecedented “atrocities” against women under their governance in the last five years.
Addressing a public meeting in Deogarh during his rapid tour of Rajasthan ahead of the November 25 polls, Prime Minister Modi criticized Congress leaders for their alleged “abuse” directed at him during rallies. He emphasized that there are individuals who underestimate the strength of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), assuming that abusing Modi would suffice. Modi highlighted the significant role played by BJP workers in building the party.
“The way our daughters, sisters, and mothers have raised the BJP’s flag is commendable. Women in Rajasthan are unwilling to tolerate the Congress even for a moment. Rajasthan has not witnessed any government that has committed more atrocities against women than the present government,” asserted PM Modi, addressing a largely female audience.
“The women of Rajasthan have come here to determine their future, leaving behind their household chores,” Modi added, as the crowd cheered and clapped.
Rajasthan is poised for assembly polls on November 25, with votes to be counted on December 3. Out of the 200 assembly seats, 199 will be contested on November 25, as elections in the Karanpur constituency were adjourned following the passing of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot assumed office with the support of BSP MLAs and Independents.
As the political landscape in Rajasthan intensifies, Prime Minister Modi’s allegations of atrocities against women serve as a focal point in the BJP’s campaign against the Congress government. The upcoming elections hold significant importance for both parties, with the state eagerly awaiting the results that will shape its political future.
