PM Modi arrives in Hyderabad to inaugurate projects worth Rs 11,300 cr

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad to inaugurate and lay the groundwork for development projects worth Rs 11,300 crore. The Prime Minister was greeted at Hyderabad’s Begumpet Airport by Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. Bandi Sanjay, the chief of the Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was also present at the airport.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao did not greet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the airport. In his absence, KCR sent Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to meet the Prime Minister at Begumpet airport. The Telangana chief minister would also skip Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the state on Saturday.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 11,300 crore in Telangana, as part of a major infrastructure and connectivity push. At Secunderabad railway station, the Prime Minister will flag off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express.

PM Modi will also lay the groundwork for the rebuilding of Secunderabad Railway Station and launch other railway-related development projects. According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express, which connects IT City, Hyderabad, with Lord Venkateswara’s home, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to depart from Telangana in less than three months.

The train will cut the travel time between the two cities by over three and a half hours, which will be very useful for pilgrims. The reconstruction of Secunderabad Railway Station, which is expected to cost Rs 720 crore, would include world-class amenities as well as a beautifully designed landmark station structure.

According to the PMO statement, the refurbished station would have a double-level expansive roof plaza with all passenger amenities in one location, as well as multimodal connectivity for seamless transfer of passengers from the train to other modes.

Later that day, the Prime Minister would lay the foundation stone for AIIMS Bibinagar at a public ceremony at Hyderabad’s Parade Ground. AIIMS Bibinagar will cost more than Rs 1,350 crore to build. According to the PMO statement, the development of AIIMS Bibinagar is a crucial milestone in offering complete, quality, and holistic tertiary care health services to the people of Telangana at their doorstep.

At the event, the Prime Minister will also lay the groundwork for National Highway projects worth over Rs 7,850 crore. These road projects will improve Telangana and Andhra Pradesh’s road connectivity and contribute to the region’s socioeconomic development.
