PM Modi’s Arrival in Varanasi Coincides with the Initiation of Numerous Development Initiatives

The winners of the Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita, Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita, and Kashi Sansad Gyan Pratiyogita will be given awards by PM.

Along with a number of BJP employees, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gave Prime Minister Narendra Modi a warm welcome upon his arrival at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Thursday evening. On February 23, the Prime Minister began a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency with the goal of laying the groundwork for several development projects totaling more than ₹13,202 crore.

“The PM will inaugurate 24 projects worth 11,972 crores and lay the foundation stone of 12 projects worth 2,195 crores,” a senior official of district administration said.

The PM will also be present at an event at BHU, where he will give prizes to the victors of the Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita, Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita, and Kashi Sansad Gyan Pratiyogita. In addition to interacting with the participants through their photo entries on the theme of “Sanwarti Kashi,” he will also give books, uniform sets, music instruments, and merit scholarships to Varanasi’s Sanskrit students.

“PM Modi will visit Sant Ravidas Temple at Seergovardhan where he will offer prayers to Sant Ravidas and will have prasad in Langar (community feast). He will inaugurate various development works around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali worth around 32 crore, including unveiling of Sant Ravids statute and laying the foundation stone of the museum and beautification of the park worth about 62 crore,” Kashi region BJP president Dilip Patel added.

On Friday, the prime minister is scheduled to visit the Banas Dairy Plant located in Karkhiyavan.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the cornerstone for multiple road projects in an effort to improve Varanasi’s road connectivity even more. These consist of the following: six lanes of phase-1 of the Varanasi-Aurangabad section of NH-19; four lanes of Package-1 Varanasi-Hanumana section on NH-35; four lanes of the Ghargra-Bridge-Varanasi section of NH-233; four lanes of the Sultanpur-Varanasi section of NH-56 (Package-1); and the building of a Railway Overbridge (ROB) on the Varanasi-Jaunpur rail section near Babatpur. Additionally, the PM will lay the cornerstone for Package 1 of the Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Expressway.

The prime minister will open the Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit in UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, the LPG bottling plant by HPCL in Sewapuri, various infrastructure projects at UPSIDA Agro Park, Karkhiyaon, and a common facility center for weavers to print silk fabrics in order to promote the region’s industrial development.

Modi will also officially open a number of urban development projects in Varanasi, such as the NTPC’s urban waste to charcoal plant in Ramana, the upgrading of the water supply network in the Sis-Varuna area, the SCADA automation of STPs and sewerage pumping stations, and online effluent monitoring. The prime minister will also lay the groundwork for a number of beautification initiatives in Varanasi, such as those aimed at revitalizing ponds, redesigning parks, and creating a 3-D digital map and database.

The PM will launch a number of tourism-related and spiritual tourism-related projects during the day. The projects include the launch of an electric catamaran vessel provided by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) for Varanasi and Ayodhya, the renovation of public facilities at five Padavs of Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg and Pavan Path with ten spiritual yatra, and the construction of seven change rooms for floating jetties and four community jetties. The PM will also lay the cornerstone for the quick pontoon opening mechanism at Ballia as well as thirteen community jetties of IWAI in various cities.

“Providing impetus to the famous textile sector of Varanasi, the PM will lay the foundation stone of the national institute of fashion technology (NIFT) in Varanasi. The new institute will strengthen the education and training infrastructure of the textile sector,” Patel informed the media.

“Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and district rifle shooting range, a step towards strengthening the sports infrastructure in the city,” he added.

While Commissioner of Police Ashok Mutha Jain stated that tight security measures had been put in place and security had been stepped up, DM Rajalingam stated that all preparations were in order.
