In a scathing attack on the Congress-led government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Thursday that the state had reached the unfortunate distinction of being “number one” in “riots, crime, corruption, and paper leaks” under their rule.
As the state wraps up its final day of campaigning before the polls on November 23, with results scheduled for December 3, PM Modi concluded his campaign in Rajasthan by confidently declaring, “BJP is going to form the government in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.” He expressed optimism about the party’s victory in these three poll-bound states.
PM Modi assured the electorate that, if elected, the BJP would elevate the state to the “number one” position in tourism, investments, industries, and education. Addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Deogarh district during his whirlwind tour, PM Modi accused the Congress of propelling the state to the top position in “riots, crime, corruption, and paper leaks” during their five years in power. He promised, “We (BJP) will promote Rajasthan to the number one position in tourism, investments, industries, and education,” underscoring the necessity for a robust government for the state’s development.
PM Modi alleged that the Congress government, upon assuming power, halted all schemes initiated by the previous BJP-led administrations. “Five years ago, when Congress came to power, they stopped all our schemes,” he asserted. Looking ahead to December 3, when he anticipates the BJP’s return to power, PM Modi pledged to advance schemes beneficial to the state’s residents.
During his address, PM Modi emphasized, “Our alliance is with the ‘Janata Janardan.'” Out of the 200 assembly seats, 199 will be contested on November 25, with elections in the Karanpur constituency adjourned due to the passing of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. In the 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Ashok Gehlot assumed the CM position with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
