The Prime Minister specifically lauded Indian speedster Mohammed Shami for his commendable performance in the ODI World Cup 2023, expressing appreciation with a “Well done, Shami. You played really well this time.”

In the face of the six-wicket loss against Australia in the finals, PM Modi urged the team to ‘stick together’ during this challenging time. He concluded his pep talk by extending a cordial invitation to the squad, inviting them to Delhi and suggesting a future meeting. “You guys have worked really hard and played exceptionally well. Just stick together and keep on motivating each other. Also, whenever you are free and are in Delhi, then let’s meet again. You all are cordially invited from my side,” he remarked.
