Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also praised the IMD for its timely forecasts, particularly during events like Cyclone Mocha, which had an impact beyond India’s borders. He emphasized the department’s significance in various aspects of life, from agriculture to healthcare, aviation to energy, stating that it acts as a safety net protecting national interests and citizens from natural disasters. Dhankhar recognized the IMD’s positive role in diverse sectors and applauded the precision of modern forecasts compared to earlier times when scientific progress was limited. He expressed pride in the contributions of Indian scientists to the field.
