Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed greetings to first-time voters participating in the ongoing Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls and called upon citizens to exercise their voting rights in large numbers during the second phase of elections for 70 seats in the Chhattisgarh Assembly. Polling in Chhattisgarh, featuring over 18,800 polling stations, began at 8 am and will continue till 3 pm, with some stations in Bindranavagarh operating from 7 am to 3 pm. PM Modi expressed confidence in the enthusiasm of voters in Madhya Pradesh and extended special wishes to the youth casting their first votes. Urging record-breaking participation in Chhattisgarh, he emphasized the significance of each vote in upholding democratic traditions. In Madhya Pradesh, where the BJP aims to maintain its long-standing rule, and Chhattisgarh, where the Congress seeks change, the election will determine the fate of over 2,500 candidates. Webcasting is deployed at 42,000 polling stations, and robust security measures involving central forces and state police ensure a smooth polling process. Nearly 5.59 crore voters, including 2.87 crore men and 2.71 crore women, are eligible to cast their ballots. The election’s outcome holds critical importance for both the BJP and Congress, with results alongside those from Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram set to be announced on December 3.
