PM Modi flags off Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad Railway Station here on Saturday. The current Vande Bharat train will save travel time between the two cities by over three and a half hours, benefiting pilgrims from both Telugu states in particular.

This is India’s inaugural Vande Bharat Express, linking Tirupati, a city in Andhra Pradesh known for the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple and other historic temples. This is India’s 13th Vande Bharat Express, and it will operate between Secunderabad in Telangana and Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The new semi-high speed train connects Hyderabad’s IT city with Tirupati. This is the second Vande Bharat train to depart Telangana in less than three months.

PM Modi had earlier in January launched India’s eighth Vande Bharat Express between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

The train’s debut on the new route comes just one week after the Prime Minister launched the current Vande Bharat on the Bhopal-New Delhi line. The Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express makes stops in Nalgonda, Guntur, Ongole, and Nellore on its 660-kilometer route between the cities.

The railway will reduce travel time between the two cities by over three and a half hours. Furthermore, the train arrives in less than a minute, or 52 seconds, at a speed of 100 kmph. The new Vande Bharat Express has Security cameras, backup power, GPS-based information systems, and hoover toilets.

PM Modi also lay the groundwork for the renovation of Secunderabad Railway Station. The railway would make it easier for those travelling from Hyderabad to the sacred city of Tirupati.

The Secunderabad to Tirupati Vande Bharat will leave at 6 a.m. and arrive in Tirupati at 2:30 p.m. The train will travel the entire route in 8 hours and 30 minutes, which is significantly less than the 12 hours required by most present services.

It is worth noting that the Vande Bharat Train is an indigenously produced, semi-high speed, self-propelled train set. The train is outfitted with cutting-edge passenger comforts. It will make rail travel faster, more comfortable, and more convenient for passengers.
