Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his address at the G20 University Connect finale, underscored India’s recent diplomatic and scientific accomplishments, emphasizing the country’s elevated status in global diplomacy.
Reflecting on the event’s location, the Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Modi recalled the vibrant atmosphere it had witnessed two weeks prior and expressed his delight that the future of India was now represented there. He remarked, “Two weeks back, in this Bharat Mandapam, there was a great bustle. This Bharat Mandapam had become a happening place. I am delighted that in the same Bharat Mandapam, my future Bharat is present.”
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted the recent successful organization of the G20 summit, noting that the world had marveled at India’s efforts in hosting the event. He attributed this achievement to the involvement of young individuals who had undertaken the responsibility of ensuring its success. He stated, “When youth like you take up the responsibility to make an event successful, it does become successful.”
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi mentioned the BRICS Summit held in South Africa before the G20 and credited India’s efforts for the inclusion of six new countries into the BRICS community. He humorously commented, “You have chosen me to do all the good deeds.”
The Prime Minister proceeded to provide an overview of India’s remarkable achievements in the past month. He praised the successful launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, highlighting the momentous day of August 23. On that day, India’s voice resounded globally as Chandrayaan-3 reached the Moon, coinciding with the celebration of National Sports Day in India. Following this triumph, India swiftly launched its solar mission.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi referenced the passage of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ (Women’s Empowerment Act) in Parliament, marking a significant milestone. He noted that the inauguration of the new Parliament building had filled the entire nation with pride. The first legislative action in the new building, the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,’ showcased Parliament’s enthusiastic acceptance of women-led development.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted various initiatives aimed at empowering marginalized communities, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the economically disadvantaged, and the middle class. He announced the launch of the PM Vishwakarma Yojana to support artisans.
The G20 University Connect initiative witnessed extensive participation from higher education institutions across the country, hosting numerous programs that engaged students and academics alike.
