Prime Minister Modi Highlights Multifaceted Progress in Chhattisgarh Over the Past 9 Years

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several railway projects and laid the foundation stone for ‘critical care blocks’ across nine districts in Chhattisgarh. During a public event in Raigarh, PM Modi emphasized that over the past nine years, the Central government has been dedicated to fostering multidimensional development in Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the importance of balanced development across all states and regions in India, with Chhattisgarh playing a crucial role in the nation’s progress.

PM Modi inaugurated railway sector projects valued at approximately Rs 6,350 crore, marking a significant milestone in Chhattisgarh’s rail infrastructure development. He highlighted the construction of rail corridors as a significant step for industrial growth in the state, creating employment opportunities. PM Modi underscored the nation’s commitment to becoming a developed nation and commended India’s progress on the global stage, showcasing both economic development and welfare initiatives for the underprivileged.

One of the key projects, the Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I, is part of the PM GatiShakti initiative, a National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity. This project involves the construction of a 124.8 km rail line from Kharsia to Dharamjaygarh, including a spur line to Gare-Pelma and feeder lines connecting Chhal, Baroud, Durgapur, and other coal mines. The electrified broad gauge rail line, built at an approximate cost of Rs 3,055 crore, aims to enhance rail connectivity for coal transportation from the Mand-Raigarh coalfields in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for nine Critical Care Blocks, part of the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), in Durg, Kondagaon, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Jashpur, Surajpur, Surguja, Bastar, and Raigarh Districts, with a total budget exceeding Rs 210 Crore.

PM Modi also distributed one lakh sickle cell counselling cards to screened individuals, addressing the issue of sickle cell anaemia, particularly affecting tribal communities. This initiative is part of the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission (NSAEM), launched by PM Modi in July 2023 in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi visited Madhya Pradesh and laid the foundation stone for development projects valued at over Rs 50,700 crores in Bina.
