Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a comprehensive developmental journey across the eastern region of India, unveiling a slew of projects aimed at bolstering various sectors crucial for economic growth and prosperity. Commencing his two-day visit on March 1, the Prime Minister first focused his attention on Jharkhand, where he inaugurated a series of transformative initiatives amounting to over Rs 35,700 crore.

In a significant stride towards self-sufficiency in urea production, Prime Minister Modi dedicated the Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Ltd (HURL) Sindri Fertiliser Plant to the nation. This state-of-the-art facility, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 8,900 crore, is poised to augment indigenous urea production by approximately 12.7 LMT annually, thereby benefiting farmers across the nation. The Sindri Fertiliser Plant marks the third such revival under the Prime Minister’s stewardship, following the successful rejuvenation of fertilizer plants in Gorakhpur and Ramagundam.

Continuing his focus on infrastructure development, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several railway projects in Jharkhand, collectively valued at more than Rs 17,600 crore. These projects, including the expansion of rail connectivity between Sone Nagar and Andal, and the establishment of new rail lines such as Tori-Shivpur and Mohanpur-Hansdiha, are poised to enhance transport services and stimulate socio-economic growth in the region. Additionally, the Prime Minister flagged off three trains, further augmenting the state’s transportation network.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the significance of power generation and distribution by dedicating Unit 1 (660 MW) of the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (STPP) in Chatra, Jharkhand. With an investment exceeding Rs 7,500 crore, this power project promises to alleviate electricity shortages, foster job creation, and catalyze overall socio-economic development in the state.

In parallel with these endeavors, Prime Minister Modi also emphasized the coal sector, unveiling projects aimed at bolstering coal-related infrastructure in Jharkhand, thus reinforcing the region’s pivotal role in India’s energy landscape.

Following his engagements in Jharkhand, the Prime Minister is scheduled to partake in a public program in Arambagh, Hooghly, West Bengal. Here, he will inaugurate, dedicate, and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects valued at more than Rs 7,200 crore, underscoring the government’s unwavering commitment to propelling holistic growth across diverse sectors.

Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic itinerary underscores the government’s steadfast resolve to foster inclusive and sustainable development, thereby laying a robust foundation for a prosperous future for the people of India.
