External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Lakshadweep, stating that it has brought global attention to the archipelago and its significant tourism potential. Jaishankar expressed that the visit serves as inspiration for promoting tourism in Lakshadweep, contributing to the region’s prosperity while allowing visitors to experience its unique culture and traditions.

In a post on his official social media handle, Jaishankar highlighted the importance of showcasing India’s beauty and diversity to the world as the country becomes more globally oriented.

During his visit to Lakshadweep, PM Modi shared images of the picturesque islands, white beaches, and pristine blue skies, urging adventure enthusiasts to include Lakshadweep in their travel plans. He expressed gratitude to the people of the islands for their hospitality and shared moments of early morning walks along the pristine beaches.

PM Modi’s visit included interactions with the locals and the inauguration of various development projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure, healthcare, internet connectivity, and drinking water facilities while preserving the vibrant local culture. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for projects worth over Rs 1,150 crore, including the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI-SOFC) project, a Low-Temperature Thermal Desalination (LTTD) plant, and a solar power plant. He also inaugurated the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in Agatti and Minicoy islands, among other initiatives to uplift the lives of the residents.
