PM Modi Takes Dig at INDIA Bloc: No Need for ‘Mili-Juli’ Sarkar

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) natural choice status for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He criticized the idea of a “mili-juli sarkar” (coalition government), asserting that the country had lost 30 years due to the instability caused by such formations.

PM Modi highlighted the consensus among people, experts, opinion makers, and media that India does not need a coalition government. He attributed the past “mili-juli sarkar” era to corruption and appeasement politics, leading to a loss of optimism, confidence, and a negative global image for India. The Prime Minister stated that the BJP is the preferred choice for stability and good governance.

Addressing the opposition’s INDIA bloc, consisting of 28 parties, including the Congress, PM Modi acknowledged the challenge of seat-sharing among these parties. He emphasized that the BJP is the single largest party in southern India in terms of Lok Sabha seats, with support across the country, including six northeastern states.

Responding to the selection of fresh faces as Chief Ministers in three Hindi heartland states, PM Modi dismissed it as a new trend, citing his own example when he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat without prior administrative experience or being elected to the Legislative Assembly.

Critiquing opposition parties for “dynastic politics,” the Prime Minister argued that the BJP, as a cadre-based party, encourages democratic churn and has the ability to nurture multiple generations of leadership simultaneously.

Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, PM Modi commended India’s resilience despite the challenges, and he reiterated that job creation remains a top priority for his government. He highlighted the average inflation rate during his tenure compared to the previous decade, underlining the efforts directed toward job creation.

As the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach, Prime Minister Modi projected the BJP as the party committed to stability, governance, and addressing the aspirations of the Indian population.
