On September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate ‘YashoBhoomi’ in Dwarka, reinforcing his vision of establishing world-class infrastructure for hosting meetings, conferences, and exhibitions in India. This marks the operational launch of Phase 1 of the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), named ‘YashoBhoomi’ in Dwarka.
Spanning an expansive project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters and a total built-up area surpassing 1.8 lakh square meters, ‘YashoBhoomi’ is poised to rank among the world’s largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities.
The Convention Center, spanning more than 73 thousand square meters, encompasses 15 convention rooms, including the Main auditorium, the Grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms, collectively capable of accommodating 11,000 delegates. It boasts the country’s largest LED media facade.
The Main auditorium, serving as the plenary hall, can seat around 6,000 guests and features an innovative automated seating system that allows for flexible floor configurations. It incorporates wooden floors and acoustic wall panels, ensuring a top-notch visitor experience.
The Grand Ballroom, characterized by a unique petal ceiling, can host approximately 2,500 guests and offers an extended open area for up to 500 people. The facility includes 13 meeting rooms across eight floors to cater to meetings of varying scales.
‘YashoBhoomi’ also boasts one of the world’s largest exhibition halls, spanning over 1.07 lakh square meters, which will be utilized for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events. These halls are connected to a grand foyer space featuring a distinctive copper ceiling that filters natural light through skylights. The foyer includes essential support areas like media rooms, VVIP lounges, cloak facilities, a visitor information center, and ticketing services. The design incorporates elements inspired by Indian culture, such as terrazzo floors with brass inlays, suspended sound-absorbent metal cylinders, and illuminated patterned walls.
The facility also demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability, featuring a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment system with 100% wastewater reuse, rainwater harvesting, rooftop solar panels, and earning a Green Cities Platinum certification from CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for its campus.
‘YashoBhoomi’ will be connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line with the inauguration of a new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25. This connection will enhance travel convenience, with the operational speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line increasing from 90 to 120 km/hr, reducing the travel time between New Delhi and ‘YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ to about 21 minutes.
