PM Narendra Modi Hails Project Tiger Says 70% of World’s Tigers are Found in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that 70% of the World’s tigers are found in India thanks to an advance and revolutionary conservation program while emphasizing Project Tiger, which recently observed its 50th anniversary.
“India has recently launched the International Big Cat Alliance for the conservation of 7 big cats on our planet. It is based on our learnings from Project Tiger, a pioneering conservation initiative. As a result of Project Tiger, 70 percent of the world’s tigers are found in India. We are also working on Project Lion and Project Dolphin,” PM Modi said.


The International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA) was launched by Prime Minister Modi on the ‘Commemoration of 50 years of Project Tiger’, in April this year, at Mysuru University in Karnataka.
PM Modi Stated that Project Lion and Project Dolphin are in the pipeline via video message to the G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Ministerial Meeting that was held in Chennai on Friday.
Stressing India’s Climate commitments, he also said that it is among the top 5 nations in the world vis a vis installed renewable energy capacity.
PM Modi also highlighted India’s target of attaining net zero by 2070. Through our alliances like the International solar alliance, CDRI, and the leadership group for the energy transition, we continued to work together with our partners, he further noted.


After the result of the two-day-long 4th Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group (ECSWG) meeting, The Environment and Climate Sustainability Ministerial Meeting was held on Friday.
One of the important focuses of the 4th ECSWG was the launch of the ‘Resource Efficiency-Circular Economy Industry Coalition on the final day of the event.
The main aim of the coalition is to bring together nations, industries, and experts in their efforts to drive the global circulatory agenda forward. This initiative will be a significant achievement for India’s G20 presidency by representing a joint step towards encouraging local resource efficiency efforts and strengthening the circular economy paradigm.
India has been continuously at the fore of taking action on biodiversity conservation, enrichment, and protection stated PM Modi.
