President Murmu: ‘If given sufficient opportunities, girls can excel beyond boys’

President Droupadi Murmu asserted on Wednesday that given ample opportunities, girls can surpass boys in various fields.She expressed her satisfaction with the fact that out of the 65 students receiving degrees, 37 were daughters, citing it as an example of the potential of girls when provided with adequate opportunities.She distributed awards to various students and emphasized their importance in the medical fraternity, stating that they have now become significant members of the profession.

President Droupadi Murmu asserted on Wednesday that given ample opportunities, girls can surpass boys in various fields. Speaking at the 9th Convocation of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in the national capital, she expressed her satisfaction with the fact that out of the 65 students receiving degrees, 37 were daughters, citing it as an example of the potential of girls when provided with adequate opportunities. President Murmu distributed awards to various students and emphasized their importance in the medical fraternity, stating that they have now become significant members of the profession.

Addressing the students, she urged them to fulfill their responsibilities as super specialists with humility, a service-oriented attitude, and sensitivity. Murmu commended ILBS for its remarkable success over 13 years, highlighting its impact on establishing India as a global leader in healthcare through world-class facilities at affordable costs. She expressed a desire to see globally renowned research conducted alongside medical advancements at ILBS.

President Murmu also stressed the importance of preventive healthcare, envisioning a disease-free nation. She emphasized the role of ILBS in creating awareness among stakeholders for disease prevention, especially concerning liver diseases. Murmu described the liver as the “security guard” of the body, highlighting its crucial role in preventing various diseases.

Furthermore, she underscored the necessity of raising awareness about organ donation in the country. Concluding her address, President Murmu expressed confidence that the graduates would establish a new paradigm of humanitarian service while upholding the ideals shared during the event.
