Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a roadshow in Gurugram on Monday during his visit to the Haryana city for the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 112 National Highway projects worth approximately Rs one lakh crore. Focused on enhancing traffic flow and reducing congestion on NH-48 between Delhi and Gurugram, the Prime Minister officially opened the Haryana section of the notable Dwarka Expressway.

Prior to the main event, PM Modi, accompanied by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, inspected the Dwarka Expressway. The 19 km-long Haryana section, costing around Rs. 4,100 crore, includes two segments: a 10.2 km stretch from Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and an 8.7 km segment from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. This section provides direct connectivity to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.

In addition to the Dwarka Expressway, several other significant projects were inaugurated by the Prime Minister. These include the 9.6 km six-lane Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II)- Package 3 in Delhi, three packages of the Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, the Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, the Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, the Dobaspet – Heskote section in Karnataka, and 42 other projects in different states worth a total of Rs. 20,500 crores.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for various National Highway projects across the country. Notable projects include the Bengaluru – Kadappa – Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, the Belgaum – Hungund – Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, the Shamli – Ambala Highway in Haryana, the Amritsar – Bathinda corridor in Punjab, and 39 other projects in different states collectively valued at Rs. 32,700 crores.

These initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in the expansion of the National Highway network, fostering socio-economic growth, creating job opportunities, and supporting trade and commerce in various regions throughout the country.
