Prime Minister Modi Reflects on ‘Reform, Perform, and Transform’ Agenda During Lok Sabha Address on Final Day of Budget Session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on Saturday that the preceding five years under the BJP-led government have been characterized by a commitment to “reform, perform, and transform” within the nation. He emphasized the rarity of witnessing such transformative changes within the same timeframe as a result of these endeavors.

Speaking on the final day of the budget session to the 17th Lok Sabha, PM Modi extended his greetings to the members and commended Speaker Om Birla for his leadership in steering the House.

“These past five years have been marked by a focused effort towards reform, performance, and transformation across the country. It’s uncommon to witness both reform and performance concurrently leading to tangible transformation, which we are witnessing firsthand… The nation is undergoing this transformation journey alongside the 17th Lok Sabha, and I firmly believe that the nation will continue to bestow its blessings upon this parliament,” he stated.

PM Modi emphasized the significance of the day within the democratic tradition, highlighting the numerous pivotal decisions made during the tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha in addressing various challenges and steering the country in the right direction.

“In a sense, today is a day to recommit ourselves to the service of the nation after five years of ideological voyage and dedicated efforts towards nation-building,” he added.

The Prime Minister noted that the 17th Lok Sabha achieved an impressive 97% productivity rate.

The budget session of Parliament commenced on January 31 and was extended by a day until February 10. This session marks the conclusion of the Lok Sabha’s term before the anticipated general elections scheduled for April-May this year.
