Ahead of his visit to Gurugram in Haryana, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the Dwarka Expressway, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the significance of 112 National Highway projects set to be launched. In a tweet posted on his official handle on X, PM Modi underscored that these projects would not only bolster economic growth but also align with the nation’s efforts to develop next-generation infrastructure.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) announced that PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for the 112 National Highway projects spread across the country, with a total investment of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore. Among these projects is the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, aimed at improving traffic flow and easing congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48.
The Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway spans 19 kilometers and has been constructed at a cost of around Rs 4,100 crore. It comprises two packages, including the Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and the Basai ROB to Kherki Daula stretch. This expressway will provide direct connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass, offering significant convenience to commuters.
Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate various other major projects across different states during the event. These projects include the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi, Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, NH16 section in Andhra Pradesh, NH-21 section in Himachal Pradesh, and NH projects in Karnataka, among others. The combined investment in these projects amounts to Rs. 20,500 crores, marking a substantial commitment to infrastructure development across the nation.
The inauguration of these National Highway projects reflects the government’s steadfast focus on enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth through infrastructure development. With these initiatives, PM Modi aims to propel India towards a future of robust and modernized transportation networks, facilitating smoother travel and boosting economic prosperity nationwide.
