Pune: Three People Aged 18-25 Electrocuted to Death Near Z Bridge on Mutha River

In a tragic incident early this morning, three young individuals were electrocuted to death near Z bridge on the Mutha River in Pune. The victims, aged between 18 and 25 years, lost their lives at around 3 AM while attempting to relocate their food stall due to the rising water levels of the river.

The incident occurred when the group, in an effort to secure their livelihood amidst the rising waters, inadvertently came into contact with an electrical source. The sudden surge of electricity proved fatal, leaving no time for them to seek help.

Local authorities were quickly alerted by nearby residents who heard the commotion and witnessed the aftermath. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, it was too late to save the victims. The identities of the deceased are being withheld until their families can be notified.

The rising water level in the Mutha River has been a cause of concern for local vendors and residents alike. Recent heavy rains have significantly increased the river’s flow, prompting many to take precautionary measures to safeguard their belongings and businesses.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the electrocution. Preliminary reports suggest that faulty wiring or an exposed electrical connection might have been the culprit. The municipal corporation has been urged to inspect and rectify any hazardous electrical setups in the area to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Local community leaders have expressed their condolences to the families of the victims and have called for greater safety measures for street vendors who often operate in precarious conditions. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by those trying to make a living in adverse circumstances.

As the investigation continues, the Pune Municipal Corporation has promised to provide support to the affected families and to implement stricter regulations to ensure the safety of street vendors operating near the riverbanks.
