In a significant development favoring the ruling NDA alliance, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary has decided to join forces with them, dealing a blow to the opposition INDIA bloc. Chaudhary, expressing confidence in the NDA’s leadership, predicted a resounding victory of over 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls during his meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital.
“Under the leadership of Shri @narendramodiji, India is witnessing remarkable development and welfare initiatives for the underprivileged! Met Mr. @AmitShahji and Mr. @JPNaddaji and concluded to join #NDA. NDA is poised to realize the vision of a developed India and surpass the 400-seat mark this time!” Chaudhary announced on ‘X’.
Nadda welcomed Chaudhary into the NDA fold, stating, “Today, in the presence of Honorable Home Minister Shri @amitshahji, a meeting was held with the President of @RLDparty @jayantrldji. I warmly welcome his decision to join the NDA family.”
“Under the esteemed leadership of @narendramodiji, your contribution will be instrumental in advancing the cause of a developed India and the progress of Uttar Pradesh. This time, NDA surpasses 400!” he added.
Earlier, Chaudhary had emphasized that his decision to join the NDA was made after consulting all MLAs and party workers, with no prior elaborate planning.
“…I made this decision after consulting all the MLAs and workers of my party. There was no extensive planning behind this decision, nor was it made long ago. We had to act swiftly due to the circumstances. Our intention is to contribute positively to our nation and its people,” Chaudhary informed reporters in Delhi.
Regarding the Bharat Ratna awarded to his grandfather, Chaudhury Charan Singh, Jayant Chaudhury highlighted its significance beyond his family and party, extending to the entire nation.
“We are delighted by the Bharat Ratna honor. This recognition extends beyond our family and party, encompassing the entire nation. It honors the farmers, youth, and underprivileged sections of our country,” he remarked.
