With a growing demand for travel from India to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh aims to attract 7.5 million Indian visitors by 2030, as stated by Alhasan Aldabbagh, President – Asia Pacific, Saudi Tourism Authority, at the prestigious SATTE 2024 travel show. Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s third participation in SATTE and commemorating three centuries since its founding, Aldabbagh underscored India’s importance as a key market. He noted a significant 50 percent increase in Indian visitors to Saudi Arabia last year and outlined plans to achieve the 2030 vision. Speaking with ANI, Aldabbagh expressed enthusiasm about being at SATTE, calling it one of the most distinguished trade shows in South Asia. He emphasized the significance of the Saudi founding day in today’s context. Regarding the Indian market’s significance, Aldabbagh emphasized its priority status for Saudi Arabia. He mentioned the remarkable growth of 1.5 million Indian visitors last year and outlined the objective of attracting 7.5 million Indian visitors by 2030. Addressing visa facilitation, Aldabbagh highlighted efforts to streamline access to Saudi Arabia for Indian travelers. He mentioned the presence of 10 VFS offices in India with plans for further expansion. Additionally, he announced a stopover program offering a 96-hour free visa for travelers flying through Saudi Airlines or flynas. Holders of US, UK, or Schengen visas are also eligible for e-Visas or visa on arrival. Discussing the enduring relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, Aldabbagh emphasized the consistent expansion of mutual goodwill across various sectors, including tourism, economics, social, and cultural exchanges. He expressed anticipation for planned activations in India this year to strengthen the bilateral relationship further. India and Saudi Arabia share cordial and friendly relations, reflecting their centuries-old economic and socio-cultural ties. SATTE (South Asia’s Travel and Tourism Exchange) serves as a comprehensive platform for domestic and international buyers and professionals from the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry, along with National and State Tourism Boards (NTOs and STOs). Supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and various tourism boards and associations, SATTE is a prominent event in the travel and tourism sector.
