A Spanish tourist allegedly gang-raped while on a bike tour with her husband in Jharkhand’s Dumka district expressed no regrets about visiting India. Despite the traumatic incident on March 2 during their night stay in a makeshift tent, the 28-year-old tourist remains undeterred. She shared her perspective with the South China Morning Post (SCMP), emphasizing that such incidents could happen anywhere in the world.
The woman advised women to travel without fear, suggesting camping in locations close to roads for easy access to help. While uncertain about testifying in court, they are prepared to do so if needed, possibly through a video call.
Regarding taking risks, she acknowledged societal norms but defended their decision to explore beyond their comfort zone. Despite the ordeal, she affirmed not regretting their journey or visiting India. She also noted plans to continue their bike trips after a break in Spain, highlighting their resilience and determination.
